Stability comes where there is truth. If we are arguing to prove ourselves right, we are not actually in our stable stage. It is of course necessary to clarify for accuracy, but it is not necessary to argue with stubbornness. If we are arguing, it means we are not convinced about the truth. When involved in an argument with someone, we need to check if we are convinced of the truth of what we are arguing about. If we are sure, then we need to remind ourselves that we needn't argue because truth will be revealed on its own. This will ensure our stability in that particular situation. Then we can clear things out with a cool mind.
